The Director of a company which offered `tiny home’ kits, has entered a plea of guilty to charges relating to accepting $1.3 million in payments from customers, without supplying its products.
Spencer William Porter, 25, of Clyde North, was the director of MyTinyHomeKit Pty Ltd and Property Magician Pty Ltd.
Porter allowed his businesses to accept payment from 43 consumers for the kits from December 2021 to March 2024 and failed to supply them within a reasonable time, committing multiple offences under section 158 of the Australian Consumer Law.
The businesses have since gone into liquidation and the products have never been supplied.
Porter will appear for a plea hearing in the County Court on 1 October.
